Betelihem’s Story
My name is Betelihem Kedir. I live with my mother and brother. I am in 7th grade.
My father passed away when I was a little child. That was extremely difficult for my family. My mother has a kidney disease but in order to support us she does labor work, like washing clothes by hand for people.
The income she brought home was not enough for our family so my brother started working after school to supplement our income, but he gets so little that it was still not enough to buy enough food for our family. Since I got registered in El Shadai, we have seen lots of good changes at home.
The school lunch was an immediate relief since there was always a shortage of food at home. I got seriously sick one time and El Shadai helped me see a doctor and paid the bills, which speeded up my recovery. I also get all I need for school.
I get a school uniform and school supplies like notebooks, pens and pencils. For Christmas, we receive things like cooking oil, soap and flour. The flour given is a good amount and lasts several months, which helps the food need at home.
I would like to thank my sponsors, Sam and Nona Leaper. I am very grateful that even though they have never met me in person, they have taken care of me as their own child. They send me a birthday gift every year so that I receive new clothes for my birthday.
I would like to thank them very much for all their support. May God bless their marriage and their family. Thank you.
